
The brief was to reposition Birmingham Airport as a modern, globally connected travel hub, one that offers the reach and reliability of a major international airport, without the stress and congestion of flying from London. The goal was to raise awareness of its extensive network of global destinations, and to highlight Birmingham as the smarter, more convenient choice for travellers looking for a seamless long-haul experience.
The idea originated from the familiar act of spotting shapes in clouds. By shaping iconic landmarks within them, I created a visual that feels light, aspirational, and naturally connected to flight.
This ties nicely into the airport’s message of “the perfect connection.” It also opens up a wider campaign world where other landmarks could emerge from clouds, turning this into a scalable brand idea.
